Located in the heart of the 16th arrondissement, in a typical Haussmannian building, this apartment has undergone an exceptional transformation, revealing a modern interpretation of Parisian luxury. The fusion of period features, such as herringbone parquet flooring, and contemporary touches creates an atmosphere that is both timeless and resolutely modern.
The renovation project began by renovating the walls and parquet flooring. We opened up several walls to give the apartment a sense of space and light, while preserving the original Hungarian Point parquet flooring, an iconic element of Haussmannian architecture.
To contrast with the traditional Haussmannian style, we opted for a black and white color palette, a timeless approach that conveys a sense of calm and elegance. This allowed us to highlight the work on the theme of line, particularly visible in the right-angled granite kitchen top, creating a striking visual impression.
Particular attention was paid to the lighting and ironwork details, where we incorporated Art Deco accents to add an extra dimension to the design. These Art Deco touches were subtly inserted, blending harmoniously with the existing Haussmannian elements.
The bathroom is a true highlight of the apartment. The square white marble bathtub, whose proportions recall the basins of ancient Rome, lends a touch of grandeur and uncompromising luxury. Combined with the black and white color palette, the bathroom embodies sophisticated Parisian luxury.
The final layout of the apartment represents a subtle blend of family furniture, which brings history and soul to the space, and contemporary furniture, which lends a modern feel. This contrast adds a unique depth to the space, with each piece being both a nod to the past and a statement of the present.
In conclusion, the renovation of this Haussmannian apartment illustrates how respecting architectural heritage and introducing contemporary touches can create a resolutely elegant and luxurious space.
It is a true ode to the Paris of yesterday and today, where every detail is a celebration of the French art of living.
